Food is great and super fresh. I just wish the waffle was bigger than 6 inches in diameter or came with two waffles. 7 dollars for one waffle is not a good deal.

Great service Best fried chicken I've ever had. Bell pepper rings were amazing.

Zeke's (as everyone knows) was featured on Chef Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Well, this restaurant is no longer a nightmare, but a fantastic foodie's dream! The appetizer of Boudin was delish and we had a variety of drinks including Abita and other mixed cocktails. Some of the food we tried were the country fried steak - wish I ordered that - Pork chops, drum fish, and fried shrimp. Everything came out looking good and tasted delicious. Our server was patient with our large party and everything came out just right. The owner, Darryl Cortello even came over to greet us and find out if everything was okay. He was a very good sport about people bringing up Ramsay, which I am sure he gets every day of his life. Well, he did a terrific job of keeping up the restaurant and the food is worth the trip!

What a wonderful dining experience every time I visit! Owner, Daryl, stopped by to greet me, by name. Nice touch! Although it's a big restaurant, it still has a family restaurant feel. The food is great and the atmosphere is comfortable. Plus, it's a delicious dining choice in Old Metairie! My only criticism: Jay C. (@the bar) could be a bit more attentive and possibly straw-taste test martinis prior to serving them. All in all, another great experience, sans the lemontini.

This place is pretty amazing. My girlfriend and I are both vegetarians, and we'd heard through the grapevine that Chef Michelle Matlock made a killer three course vegetarian meal. We made reservations for our six-month anniversary, and Michelle came through. The dinner that she created was quite simply the best vegetarian meal we'd ever had. The first course was a unique, refreshing salad with marinated artichokes and beets; the second featured a tower of roasted butternut squash and sweet potatoes; the third was a blueberries jubilee with caramel and coconut. The presentation of the meal was exquisite, with small touches and unique sauces delicately layered. The overall effect was amazing. Now granted, Zeke's IS a seafood restaurant. We saw a bunch of other plates come out, and they looked pretty tasty and tasteful. But our vegetarian dinner was divine. The staff here was excellent as well. I'd highly recommend this to anyone in New Orleans or passing through.

Actually, on our way to another restaurant, my companion and I saw Zeke's, remembered it had been on Kitchen Nightmares, and decided to dine there. What a treat! The decor is mostly reclaimed wood doors ~ nice touch. And one of the chandeliers is made from empty hot sauce bottles! Eclectic, nice, comfortable. On Fridays they have $4 martinis from Happy Hour (4 pm?) until closing at 9. Woo Hoo! Okay, so let's talk about the food. The appetizers were HUGE. Shrimp and grits were creamy and delicious; almost a large enough portion to be called an entree. The fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade was yummy (but could have had just a bit more sauce)! On to the main course. My companion had catfish with greens and mac and cheese, and loved it all. I, on the other hand, was underwhelmed with the mac and cheese (I could only taste American cheese). Can you believe it: my companion called me a "food snob!" Moving right along, I ordered the country fried steak, which is a NY strip battered and deep fried served with a sausage gravy. Along with that I had sweet potatoes (mashed with brown sugar and pecans), that, for some reason tasted like the collard greens I also ordered. The greens were good; but the potatoes just weren't supposed to taste like greens Our server, Anthony, was AWESOME. Jokes, knowledge about the menu and history of the restaurant, and great personality. The next time I'm in New Orleans, I will go back to this restaurant!

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of Gordon Ramsay's, and our friend is a server at Zeke's, so it was the perfect opportunity to stop by. The food was super delicious- I had the country fried steak with a sweet potato & mac n' cheese, and he had the special--the Cali Mahi (mahi with a lemon sauce, pureed veggies, coconut beignets & calamari). Both entrees were incredibly well cooked, with a hefty portion size (we took home leftovers). For dessert we got the bread pudding & oreo beignets (more like deep fried oreos, but so tasty none-the-less). The bread pudding is fantastic-- the partner doesn't typically like bread pudding (save for his time working at NOLA), and his eyes rolled back eating this. The oreos caused a "Meanwhile, in America moment" as we ate sugary sweet oreos fried in beignet batter, served with a starbust-colored candied strawberry glaze. Sugary, decadent, but incredibly good. The decor is great now, really emphasizing the great aspects of New Orleans without seeming cliche or trite.
